Papers consist primarily of correspondence about the busts / life masks created by John H.I. Browere. They also include biographical sketches of Browere and his son, A.D.O. Browere, by Catherine Derrick (granddaughter / daughter), along with an estate inventory, lists of busts, a 1940 letter about the sale of busts to Stephen C. Clark and his donation of them to NYSHA, receipts, newspaper and magazine clippings, a deed, and ephemera. See also the collection of Browere busts in the Fenimore Art Museum.

Sculptor, taker of life masks, and painter. Born in New York City, Browere studied under Archibald Robertson and in Europe.
